**I wrote this February 12th, 2018. Two days later the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland Florida occurred. I never posted it. In light of recent events it still reflects the same feelings.
The conversation and narrative that should be occurring. We as human beings have the inalienable rights to live. It’ not about our color, our gender, our sexuality, our religion, our cultures, our politics, or our beliefs. It’s about the choices we make and how it affects others.
“The basic human law of nature is the preservation of mankind… individuals have both a right and a duty to preserve their own lives.” – John Locke.
I can only hope as a parent that my own children are safe every day so that one day their future is better for their own families.
Others and Some by Suzanne Allen We are all the same. Some from similar walks of life Others with different pains. We love and we struggle. Some motivated and positive. Others in constant trouble. We move through the days. Some effortless in the light. Others stumbling in the gray. We see each other every day. Some notice him or her. Others look away. We don't want to be reminded. Some living in the now. Others blind-sided. We as people need to listen. Some handle through prayer. Others don't believe in hell or heaven. We live in a world that should be safe and secure. Some with minor worries they can handle. Others live day to day in constant fear. We know nothing is guaranteed in life. Some live in perfection. Others live in strife. We are all the same The world is in constant motion. Continent to Continent. Ocean to Ocean. We need to remember on this day. Some live in a world that is bright. Others are still struggling to find the light.
Thank you for stopping by.
